How “Wako Ayudando” Helps

Casa Khuyana

Is the first pediatric hospice in Peru, and the third in Latin America. It was founded by Monica Pfeiffer, who Wako Ayudando was introduced to through a family friend.

Their mission is to give children with a terminal diagnosis, and the families who love them, a peaceful place to spend their remaining time together — with dignity, comfort, and real medical support. Casa Khuyana provides pediatric palliative care and comprehensive support: medical equipment, home care, and a space where families don’t have to face this alone.

How Wako Ayudando Helps

We support Casa Khuyana in two ways. Some of the funds we raise go directly toward the equipment they need most such as wheelchairs, a refrigerator, and shower and toilet chairs , items that make daily life more manageable for the children in their care.

A little money goes a long way in Peru. A donation that might feel small here can cover something that changes daily life for a child at Casa Khuyana — a wheelchair, a shower chair, a piece of equipment their family could never otherwise afford. But our work isn’t only financial: pediatric hospice care is still not widely understood, and part of our mission is raising awareness about what hospice really means — that it’s not about giving up, but about giving comfort, dignity, and peace to children and families who need it most.

“When it’s not possible to add days to a child’s life, we can always add life to the days they have.”
